Motorcycle jack

Yesterday, I picked up a Craftsman Motorcycle/ATV jack from Sears. I had one when I owned my Fatboy and it worked great. I ran into a little trouble this time because I had the King lowered 1". I had to screw two 1/2" pieces of an old cabinet shelf together and push the back tire up on it to raise the frame high enough to get the jack arms under it. It works like a charm though and we can get the Mach1 in the garage with no problems. I just wheel the bike around on the lift and push it up against the back wall of the garage next to my tool chest.

I still haven't received my tags at my Georgia address. I hope they get there soon so I can take this beast out.

backrest

I installed the rider and passenger backrest I ordered when I purchased the bike. The bracket for the rider backrest was very easy to install, but the passenger sissy bar detachable brackets were a beast! First, the directions were not to clear. Second, the dealership sold me docking kits that were not listed as compatible with the sissy bar. Third, the brackets were stamped incorrectly. Finally, after alot of of cursing, staring, and beers I finally finished the bastard. It looks pretty good I guess. I may have to relocate the rider backrest bracket to get it where I want it, but it isn't hard to adjust.

The weather really sucks here and I'm going out of town soon. Hopefully, Georgia sends my tags soon so I can ride more. I would explain why, but some of you out there may be pyscho's and I don't want you tracking me down!

The King is home!

The King Classic arrived at his new home this afternoon! It felt really good to get back on a bike and it was like riding a bicycle, you don't forget how to do it! Although, I did stall the bastard when I started to leave the dealership. Oh well, I was too excited to care what everyone watching thought.

I'll post some pictures later. One bad thing is the tight fit in the garage with my wife's Mustang!

Getting closer

I called HD of Washington (HDWASH) to check on the status of my bike. Jimbo informed me the bike would be "coming off the floor" tonight and it should be ready by Friday. I'm having a front and rear lowering kit installed before I accept it. I also purchased a Sundowner Road King Classic seat with rider and passenger backrest. I decided to install that and save on the labor charges, which are $68 an hour.

The weather conditions are not favorable here in the D.C. area and hopefully I can get a break in the weather to get the bike home. Stay tuned...
